Rather than letting you choose to play music from specific albums or artists, ‘ Stations’ allows you to pick from curated playlists or lets you create your playlist by selecting your favorite artists from a list. Spotify is unarguably one of the best-known music streaming platforms, famous for its curated music discovery services, including ‘Discover Weekly’ and ‘Stations’. Let’s get right to it then, shall we? Spotify Now, my goal is to discuss the features and user experiences of these three streaming platforms, so music lovers can be aware of their key offerings and what makes their services so great ( or not), so they can then choose their go-to platform. This means they have little to no idea of what competitors offer making them potentially miss out on experiencing other platforms that may be better suited for them. What I have realized is that oftentimes, these users are so fixated on their initial or existing streaming providers and are not willing to explore competing options. Apple Music users are happy to have lyrics-on-the go and enjoy viewing artists’ music videos and interviews in one place, while Deezer fans sum it up by exclaiming “My Deezer gives me life!”
Spotify users argue that their platform provides the best playlists as their AI bot recommends songs very similar to their music history and personal style. While most streaming platforms mostly offer similar services, there is an ongoing debate on which product offers greater value and a better user experience.
